Conan and Subotai echo the discussion in Chapter 26. Chris (who plays Conan) isn't experienced at playing fighters, so, no, he's not being sarcastic here. The observant will notice a bit of foreshadowing in the last panel.

I think that was a real rat Arnold kicked in this scene. It took me a while to get a good screen cap of that mouse flying.

I experimented with a more standard comic style in this one - a white background with black borders on the panels. Mostly it was to see if I could do it, but it's also to see just how it changes the feel of the comic. It definitely brightens things up, but I don't think it adds much. I have a version of this in the standard black (it's not hard to change, since I used layers for the effect).

Unless I get feedback to the contrary, I'm going to stick to the black background.

Transcript:

Scene: Conan and Subotai descend down the well into the depths of the Serpent Cult Tower. Bones, rotting flesh, and rats cover the floor.

Subotai:Just how do muscle-head and She-Ra get to sneak around? I'm the only one with move silently.

DM:There's music and chanting, so you just need to avoid knocking over a china cabinet, and stay out of sight.

Conan:{ kicks a rat }

Rat:Squeek!

Subotai:I'm the only one with hide in shadows, too.

DM:Conan just needs to follow your lead.

Subotai:Why, again, do we need a thief?

Conan:Maybe there's a lock.
