Post Plan Process - The Bloody Nipple Saga

The scene with the horses is when the three are journeying towards the mountain, which is why Conan is there. Tom is just remembering it out of order, because there were four horses, and he's a bit frustrated after having spent so much time searching for traps. It has nothing to do with it being the only scene in the film where we see the vacant horse, of course.

These comics switched to a blue background due to the red filter applied to the film. It works alright for the few seconds this scene is on screen, but I'm stretching it out in a comic, which makes it hard to work with.

Transcript:

Scene: Valeria, Conan, and Subotai look into the cave inside Thulsa Doom's Mountain of Power.

Subotai:I was just reading up on "find traps." The rules say that it takes me a full turn per try.

Valeria:Okay.

Subotai:A turn is ten minutes.

Valeria:Your point?

Subotai:I checked about eighty times. That means we spent at least thirteen hours searching about ninety feet of of corridor.

Conan:At least we made it to the kitchen without setting off any traps.

Valeria:I'm sure the four horses are fine, though.

DM:You mean three.

Valeria:Nope. Valeria brought a spare one for the princess.

DM:Where did you find that one?

Valeria:The same place they found the other horses?

DM:You bought those at the city, before leaving for the mountain.

Scene: Flashback to Valeria, Conan, and Subotai riding horses, and leading a fourth, vacant horse.

Valeria:Oh, you mean that time when you took our characters out, on a quest to save the princess, and to find another character they couldn't care what he did? Yes, since they are such careful planners, they obviously brought a horse for the dame whom they were questing to find.

DM:Fine. You have four horses.

Subotai:And, it's obvious that I, also being a careful planner, brought along a +5 short sword of slaying.
